Want Online Professional Development Credit?? Watch WBT TV by clicking this link.

Whole Brain Teaching, a method of teaching containing a number of strategies to which our faculty/staff subscribe, has recently released some additional professional development resources.  Clicking on the link above will bring you to the web page.  See below for more information regarding these free resources written by Chris Biffle, WBT’s creator:

Dear Colleagues:

Last night, I had a weird dream.

A thousand teachers lined up at my door.  They shouted, “We need professional development credit and we’re broke!”

(After 40 years of teaching, you have oddball dreams.)

I couldn’t sleep.  Dang those teachers.  One of them was you.

By dawn, I’d figured out a simple, cheap way to provide professional development credit … online!

How cheap?

How does $5.00 sound?

How about anytime?

All you have to do is go to WholeBrainTeaching.com and watch one of the WBT videos in the middle of the homepage.

— The Universal Homework Model:  Discover a technique that will have your kids begging for more homework!  Honest! (Program 501)

— Oral Writing:  Teach your kids to speak paragraphs and then essays!  (Program 502)

— Super Improvers Wall:  Learn the reward system even your most challenging students can’t resist.  (Program 503)

—  The Genius Ladder:  Explore WBT’s irresistibly fun game for learning parts of speech, building topic sentences and writing paragraphs.  (Program 504)

— The Five Step Lesson Template: Dazzle your students, while you introduce, define, teach, and evaluate any subject in five easy steps … while developing critical thinking skills.  (Program 505)

— Prove It!:  Worried about upcoming state tests?  Try our simple, test preparation game.  Works great for any content area, including math and language arts.  (Program 506)

— Mind Soccer:  No child can resist WBT’s most popular, academic review game.  (Program 507)

— Brain Toys:  Part One:  Simple techniques for improving your students’ critical thinking skills. This program highlights the Air Whiteboard, Sockless Hand Puppets and Props.  (Program 508)

— Brain Toys:  Part Two:  Continue developing your students’ critical thinking skills with the Because Clapper, Example Popper and Two Finger, All Terrain Action Figures.  (Program 509)

Yes, it’s true.  All you have to do for professional development credit is go to WholeBrainTeaching.com and watch a video!  (When you find the horizontal row of videos, click on the little black arrow to reveal all the programs.)

Every broadcast is free, however if you want your own certificate for professional development and a full color pdf of the slides used in the program, that will cost you a whopping $5.00.  (Details available at the end of every show.)

Power to the Teachers (broke or not!)
